Experiment Title: The Stability of Free-Standing Liquid Bridges Under Varying Total Body Force

Students from Beaumont High School will be teaming with their teachers, a faculty mentor from John Carroll University, and a NASA mentor to design an apparatus that holds multiple samples of vertical and horizontal liquid bridges-cylindrically-shaped samples of glycerol suspended by two supports. The high school students will be required to construct the prototype of their apparatus by summer 2005. Their apparatus will then be flown aboard NASA's C-9 in May 2006, accompanied by the teachers and mentors, in order to examine the bridges' stability in the changing gravitational environment aboard the aircraft. Check out their flight journal.
